Home Intercom Systems for the DIY Homeowner

Home intercom systems are becoming more popular as part of a home security plan.  Where once intercoms were something you would probably only find in a "luxury home" (AKA expensive), now the average homeowner can afford to install them.  Many home intercom systems on the market today come as kits and are designed to be do-it-yourself projects. This helps keep the cost down, since you don't have to pay to hire professionals to install the system.

One such example is the Panasonic Wireless Video Intercom System.  The Panasonic residential intercom combines a door camera with audio capabilities. It allows hands-free conversation with visitors via a wireless door phone system and camera working in tandem.

Another home intercom system with video capabilities is the Aiphone model KB-3MRD.  This color video entry system includes an illuminating function that lets you view visitors at your front door from up to five different locations throughout your home.

There are other home intercom systems on the market as well. Some can even be purchased online from stores like Amazon.  Examples are the Reporter Wireless Alert System with Intercom and Remote Control, the SVAT Electronics Video Door Phone Intercom Security Surveillance System with Color LCD Monitor & Camera, and the Channel Vision Technology Telephone Intercom & Entry System.
